Once upon a bath, there was a great battle between "Mergirl" and her sister "The Siren of Stealth".
(names have been changed to protect the innocent ...and the not so innocent!)
Soap was sprayed, water was splashed, plastic toys were thrown...just right..to split the skin.
While the blood of defeat floated in the water, the pains of guilt cried out for relief.
In war, no one wins!
Never having dealt with this type of injury before, I was torn (ha), as to how bad it really was. Does this need stitches? Sort of borderline I thought. Since Jared was not around, I called on my trusy neighbor to help me SUPERGLUE the wound shut. And then left on an outing with the older girls. (What kind of person am I !!!)
It seemed to work for a day, till it was ripped off during church and reopened. So, quickly we scooted over to a Ready Clinic a friend told me about, in lieu of hours at the emergency room.
It ended up not a bad experience at all and it was decided that stitches were not really necessary, just butterfly strips and medicine. YEA! Thanks to friends who watched our kids and then fed us lunch too!
I am so grateful for small and simple problems!
(....but still wondering how a small plastic dolphin could lacerate the skin)
LOVE IT! (not the wound) But those pictures? LAUGHING at her smirk. She's a cute one. Glad there was a happy ending. :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo glad it all turned out well and you didn't have to spend hours on end at the ER. She's a tough little cookie!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE when you post...you're so funny and creative.
ReplyDeleteGlad Kate handled it all so well. And hooray for friends helping with kids and then feeding you. NICE!
She's looking a little guilty, and definitely having a naughty streak!
ReplyDeletestepping on a plastic flower has the same effect on your foot. glad no one was seriously injured. my sisters threw knives at my brothers a couple of times (and missed), hopefully that will never happen at your house!
ReplyDeleteIf I had to guess it would be either Kate or Hallie who ended up with wounds like this, just surprised it's taken them this long. Fun times!
ReplyDeleteGotta love those wars. 'It was the best of years, and it was the worst of years"- or something like that. You are a great mom Christy.
